Using blogs in the media center

The videos demonstrated how blogging can enhance the learning experiences in the classroom. I especially enjoyed how the blogging experiences of the first graders with the children from New Zealand. They learned how their environment affects their learning experiences. The blogging also plays a practical role in helping students stay current with their coursework.

    I agree that blogging will always keep students current with what is going on in their class, and with other classes around the world! It was neat to see the first graders interact with the children from New Zealand.

    It is so interesting how the young students seem to be so good at navigating through the blog. I would think their writing skills must improve quickly and they must take pride in what they publish.

    I think an important aspect of blogs is that it gives students a global perspective in an increasingly globalized culture. By involving students in projects that expose them to classrooms other than their own helps in their socialization.
